UCC Promise in BJP Assam Manifesto: What Could Change in Society?

Vision to Make Assam India’s Eastern Gateway
The BJP has promised an investment of around 5 lakh crore rupees to transform Assam into India’s Eastern Gateway. This is not just a number but a vision that includes better infrastructure, industries, jobs and trade opportunities. If implemented effectively, it could redefine Assam’s economic future.

Big Promises for Youth and Women
The manifesto also focuses on everyday needs and aspirations.
The government has promised 2 lakh jobs, along with plans to establish medical colleges and universities in every district. Financial assistance of 3000 rupees per month for women under the Orunodoi scheme has also been proposed.
Additionally, the goal of creating 40 lakh financially empowered women highlights a push toward inclusive growth.
Hope for Flood Relief and Tea Garden Workers
Floods remain one of Assam’s biggest challenges. To address this, the ‘Badh Mukt Assam Mission’ has been announced with significant investment.
Tea garden workers, who have long struggled with low wages and poor living conditions, are also at the centre of the manifesto. Promises include wage increases and housing support, offering a sense of long-awaited relief.
