Cricket fever is going to break out again because of the T20 World Cup 2026. Excitement about the cricketing extravaganza is already high. India and Sri Lanka are jointly gearing up to host this grand cricket festival, the T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled for February-March 2026. Two cricket venues, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and Eden Gardens in Kolkata, are already leading the race to host the knockout clashes.
India and Sri Lanka Set to Host the T20 World Cup 2026
According to reports, the ICC has shortlisted eight venues across both countries. Five Indian cities — Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai — have been confirmed, while two Colombo venues and one stadium in Kandy will represent Sri Lanka.
However, the final match venue remains flexible, depending entirely on which teams make the title clash.
- If Pakistan reaches the final, Colombo is likely to host it.
- If Pakistan does not qualify, Ahmedabad may host the grand finale.
The semifinals may also be shifted based on team progress– If Sri Lanka or Pakistan reach the semifinals, their match will be hosted in Colombo. If neither team qualifies, both semifinals will take place in India. This dynamic scheduling is designed to ensure fairness and fan engagement, especially for participating host nations.
