Nissan Tekton Revealed: All-New C-SUV to Launch in India in 2026

Nissan Motor India has revealed the name of its upcoming C-SUV today. They name it Tekton which would be the second SUV under Nissan’s  SUV “One Car, One World” strategy. While revealing the name Tekton, they offered a tempting preview of the design for the newest edition to the global SUV lineup: the All-New Nissan Tekton.

Nissan Motor India has said that Tekton will reach Indian market  in 2026 which is being manufactured in partnership with Renault at the Chennai plant for sale within India and future export to select global markets. According to some experts, Tekton will directly take on Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and  a few others in the segment.

 According to Nissan, the design of the Tekton is inspired by the Patrol. Patrol was Nissan’s longest-running and most iconic SUV. Nissan says that Tekton will combine bold aesthetics with robust reliability, premium craftsmanship, and a suite of advanced tech features. Patrol is very popular in the overseas market and was also sold in India for some time.

The  Name signifies the legacy of Nissan as the name “Tekton” is of Greek origin which means “craftsman” or “architect”. Nissan says that it aligns with Nissan’s ethos of precision engineering and innovation that enriches lives while the name signifies a powerful, premium C-SUV that embodies engineering excellence, performance, and a distinctive design identity. The Tekton will be a choice for those who are “shaping their world” through their careers, passions, or lifestyles as Nissan said.

Bold Design, Powerful Presence Inspired by the Himalayas

At the front, the Nissan Tekton boasts a powerfully sculpted bonnet and distinctive C-shaped LED headlamps—a design cue reminiscent of the legendary Nissan Patrol. The robust lower bumper enhances its commanding road presence, giving the SUV an imposing stance that defies its actual size.

The side profile highlights a muscular and confident silhouette, designed to stand out on any terrain. Paying homage to India’s majestic landscapes, the front doors feature a unique ‘Double-C’ accent with a subtle mountain range motif inspired by the Himalayas, symbolizing strength and adventure.

At the rear, a sleek red illuminated light bar stretches across the width of the vehicle, seamlessly connecting the dynamic C-shaped tail lamps. The bold Tekton nameplate is proudly positioned on the tailgate, reinforcing its premium identity.

With the Tekton, Nissan Motor India aims to strengthen its presence in the SUV segment of Indian Automobile market and expand its growing product portfolio. As part of this strategy, Nissan continues to expand its dealership network across the country, ensuring greater accessibility and customer reach.
