What Is the Delhi Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor and Why It Matters
The 82 kilometer corridor significantly reduces travel time between Delhi and Meerut. The Namo Bharat trains are designed to run at speeds of up to 180 kilometers per hour. This means the journey between the two cities can now be completed in less than one hour.
The corridor begins at Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and passes through Ghaziabad and Modinagar before reaching Meerut. Sarai Kale Khan has been developed as a major multimodal hub, offering connectivity to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station and the Delhi Metro Pink Line.
Most of the route in Uttar Pradesh is elevated, ensuring smoother operations without disrupting road traffic.

Meerut Metro Emerges as India’s Fastest Metro
The Meerut Metro will run along a 21 kilometer stretch from Meerut South to Modipuram. With a maximum speed of around 120 kilometers per hour, it ranks among the fastest metro networks in the country.
Covering the full stretch in approximately 30 minutes, the metro will pass through 12 stations. The fully air conditioned three coach trains are equipped with modern amenities. Features such as regenerative braking for energy efficiency, CCTV cameras for security, and USB charging ports for passengers add to the comfort and safety of the journey.
